With the Early Childhood Education week being marked throughout the country this week, in Kuku Tailevu, a new pre-school was opened.

Krishna Vedic Kindergarten opened with a mini march procession complete with the new students dressed in their uniforms accompanied by their parents.

Minister for Tourism, Trade and Industry Faiyaz Koya was on-hand to highlight the ever changing environment of our society.

“In the face of changes ahead, we need to make sure we equip our future generations to be lifelong learners and with the ability to learn how to learn.”

Koya noted that while school was important for the education of the child, parents, guardians and the family were instrumental in the development of Fiji’s children.

The theme for ECE week is ‘Quality Early Childhood Education, everyone’s responsibility’.
