The 2018/2019 National Budget will again focus on opportunities already created for Fijians says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

With only a few hours left to the announcement of the Budget, Bainimarama says he can’t disclose the finer details, however, says that the budget will continue to focus on infrastructure development that has transformed the nation’s prospects.

Bainimarama says the budget will see a range of initiatives that will build on the opportunities provided in previous budgets.

The PM says the Government delivered all sorts of new projects in urban centres and the rural hinterland.

This includes general improvements to infrastructure such as better roads, bridges, street lighting and footpaths; better access to electricity and water plus all the social programs that are benefitting the people of the West and the entire nation.

He adds the Budget will not be handouts as claimed by many.

The PM says the best way to assist Fijian isn’t through hand-outs but giving them more opportunities to embrace initiatives and enterprise.
