“Fiji hasn’t got traditional fossil fuel energy like coal or oil or gas but it’s wrong to say that Fiji doesn’t have its own energy. It has incredible energy wrapped up within its own biomass and Fiji’s ability to grow biomass and by extension produce waste biomass can lead to its energy independence and this can be achieved with a decade.”

Mr Davey says the company has already begun talks with the FEA.

“There’s a lot of scope to work with the FEA in using biogas as a home grown fuel to displace the use of imported diesel.”

He says the aim of the company is to see to the development of industrial scale biogas projects.
