Nausori to have new gas crematorium in few months

Thousands of Fijians living in Nausori will soon have a new gas crematorium.

This is being constructed at the Raralevu Cemetery, few minutes outside Nausori Town.

Committee president, Ratnesh Bhawan says the gas crematorium is being constructed to reduce carbon emission and the use of dogo or mangroves in a funeral pyre.

“We going to install three machines here to cater for the funeral because sometimes there is three or four funerals a day. It will be easier for us to have three machines and to cater for the funeral.”

Lincoln Refrigeration today donated $20,000 towards the project.

Managing Director, Pravin Singh says they need this sort of project in the community.

The Company will also install air conditioning upon the completion of the project.

The project which is expected to cost $900,000 will be completed within few months.
