He says the potential for this system to develop into a Tropical Cyclone within the next 24 hours is moderate.

Singh says however, the main activity will be mostly over the eastern division and its center is not expected to come on the main island.

“For this we have issued a heavy rain warning for the northern and eastern division and also some parts of the central division. And strong wind warning is also in force for parts of Fiji which are under heavy rain warning as well.”

Meanwhile the Met Office is monitoring two other disturbances which is expected to bring more rain by the weekend.
