The Fiji Meteorological Service says TC Ana is expected to track over the Yasawa group tonight and make landfall over the Ra Province.

Acting Director Terry Atalifo says the current weather system is also expected to further dive southeast and cross the Central Division tomorrow morning.

Atalifo says they are closely monitoring the system and the entire country can expect strong gale force winds from tonight into tomorrow.

“But the associated weather will continue to bring heavy rain and it will become more frequent as we speak and therefore the risk of flooding will be very high tonight.”

The Fiji Meteorological Office says TC Ana is now moving slowly at about 9km/hr and is located at about 80km west northwest of Yasawa-i-Rara or 160km north-northwest of Nadi at 6pm today.

Atalifo is warning Fijians to expect more rain overnight with high chances of flooding for low lying areas.
