The national budget 2016/2017 has been passed.

After four days and hours on hours of debate and clarifications across the floor, the budget which will initiate a new financial year from the 1st August.

Minister for Economy – Aiyaz Sayed – Khaiyum moved the third reading of the 2016/2017 appropriation bill which was passed last night with 31 votes in favour, 14 votes against the bill and five no votes.
