Naseyani Dam in Tavua nears completion

The Water Authority of Fiji has confirmed that work on Naseyani Dam in Yaqara, Tavua will soon be completed.

WAF CEO Opetaia Ravai says when completed, the dam will provide a sustainable water supply for Yaqara and the villages of Naseyani, Nananu, Drauniivi and Togovere.

“It’s almost completed that project is going to cater for villages around the Fiji Water factory and also that project as supported by Fiji Water themselves because this villages are actually landowners of the Fiji Water catchment area. It’s almost complete.”

Ravai adds WAF has provided water from the mainland through submerged pipes to Malake Island off Rakiraki.

The authority built a storage tank and distributor tank for 122 residents on the island.
