According to WAF, the water shutdown is expected to affect around 160,000 residents in Nadi and Lautoka from this Saturday till next Tuesday.

WAF Chief Operating Office Saman Ekanayake says people should not be caught off guard as they have been making announcements for a while now.

“They should store water as we have been announcing it for one month before and it’s a matter of storing 200 litres of water that will be enough for cooking and drinking during that period.”

Water tanks will also be placed in strategic locations around Nadi and Lautoka as a backup reserve and the Authority will be deploying trucks to refill the tanks.
