Twenty-eight year old, Usaia Kilaverata has appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon charged with the murder of his partner Losana McGowan.
Kilaverata appeared before Magistrate Makareta Mua who agreed to the Police Prosecution’s request to remand the accused until his next appearance.
The Magistrate has transferred the case to the High Court for hearing on the 17th of April.
Its alleged that in the early hours of Saturday morning, Kilaverata after returning from a night out had a heated argument with McGowan.
He then he allegedly pushed her resulting in her falling and hitting her head on the concrete floor.
The alleged incident took place at their flat in Toorak, Suva.
An autopsy on the late McGowan was carried out this morning before formal charges could be laid this afternoon.
