Work on the Fiji Muslim League’s multi-million dollar commercial project at their estate in Nabua, Suva will begin next year.

The League owns fifty-five acres of freehold land along Mead Road which will be developed into a commercial and residential centre.

President, Hafizud Dean Khan says the new development will consist of commercial lots and more than eighty residential and industrial lots.

“Shopping centres, apartments and of course commercial and residential lots but that we hope to start next year because we only got the money approved 24 million dollars for the first phase so we starting that next year.”

Khan says they’ve also identified a new site to provide shelter for residents currently occupying the space at Mead Road.

“So we are working with the government to identify the squatters to Waidra which is a site that we have as Fiji Muslim League for the people to go there so we are in the process of doing lease work.”

The Fiji Muslim League confirms they’re preparing the land at Waidra in Nausori for the displaced residents to move to.

The new Nabua Centre once completed is expected to create close to 300 jobs.
