Minister for Industry and Trade Faiyaz Koya yesterday handed out Micro and Small Business Grant (MSBG) cheques to 1,937 entrepreneurs of Labasa.

The grant disbursement at Subrail Park in Labasa is the 39th phase of the MSBG since 2015.

The disbursement is only the first phase of disbursement in Labasa covering the 1,937 micro and small businesses present, whilst another 1,467 micro and small businesses will be given their grants tomorrow, 31st of October 2018.

Koya says government has invested a total of approximately $3 million into the Fiji economy and in the people of Labasa.

This boost Koya says to the micro and small businesses has led to improvements in the livelihoods of at least 15,000 people.
