A 23 year old mother of three who attempted to kill her son and threatened her mother in –law with a knife has been remanded in custody.

Shaahista Shewani Devi appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court today charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of criminal intimidation in Nakasi on Tuesday.

Magistrate Sufia Hamza has handed down an interim restraining order adding non-contact for her mother-in-law, and three children.

She will be remitted to the Suva High Court on the 18th of this month.
