The Fiji Roads Authority will be installing more traffic lights around accident prone areas in the country.
Chief Executive Jonathan Moore says while traffic lights are installed to manage traffic flow, it can also help to moderate speed.
He says there are currently 45,000 traffic lights in the country.
“For the next 12 months rather than install multiple new units we making sure that the ones we got, is working properly and functioning in the right location. We might be moving some. We may be taking some out, depending on what the traffic study tell us.”
He says they have identified a few priority areas where the traffic lights will be installed.
