Four hundred and fifty one houses in Ovalau in the Lomaviti group have been destroyed by Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Lomaiviti Provincial Administrator, Elimi Rokoduru revealed this in a briefing this morning in Levuka.

Rokoduru has also confirmed that out of 8,000 people living in Ovalau, 6,000 are currently sheltered in 202 evacuation centres.

Devastation of Ovalau is obvious as 36 villagers have been ravaged by TC Winston.

Clean up Campaign has already started with the help of the National Fire Authority and 42 soldiers.

RFMF and volunteer groups have begun supplying ration on the island.”_
