More sedition-related charges

The Rakiraki Magistrates Court has remanded two men in custody on sedition-related charges.

Apimeleki Wailomo and Josua Navaluvu have been charged with one count each of sedition and urging political violence.

The State asked for both to be remanded in custody due to the seriousness of the charges and ongoing police investigations into the use of firearms.

Wailomo and Navaluvu have been remanded in custody until September first when the matter will be called in the Lautoka High Court.

A total of sixty-five people have been charged for sedition-related offences.
