The MIOT Pacific Hospital has successful conducted over four hundred scans with the country’s first 4D high definition CT scanner.
Managing Director for MIOT International Hospitals Dr. Prithvi Mohandas says out of this, seventy scans were conducted to detect heart diseases.
Dr Mohandas says the new scanner provides doctors with an increased forty seven percent visibility.
He adds through the 4D CT scanner, patients don’t need to undergo an Angiogram, which involves a heavily invasive process.
He says the scanner only takes 10 seconds with no associated risk and costs five hundred dollars.
The machine costs two million New Zealand dollars.
