Minister impressed with nursing school

Minister for Health Jone Usamate has acknowledged the TISI Sangam School of Nursing for providing skilled workers in the medical sector.

Usamate says the Ministry is committed to its partnership with the school in order to keep up the tempo of nurses joining the workforce.

“I salute the Sangam, for investing in this, investing in the training of nurses, it’s going to have an impact on the people that they meet, when this people go out, they already are well versed with some of the things that they need to do, so I salute them and I look forward to more if the same investment, so that we can produce better nurses in Fiji.”

Director Secondary, Jay Narayan says they hope to see further partnership where graduates are being absorbed in the health sector or the hospitals around the nations.

The Health Ministry will be increasing the intake of nurses in the next five years.
