Marie is Model of the Year

18 year-old Marie Fall could not control her emotions last night when she was announced the Model of the Year at the FBC TV Fashion and Designer Awards last night.

Fall who comes from the US and has maternal links to Kadavu beat 23 other models to take out the award.

Speaking to FBC News, Fall says she did not expect the award and has dedicated it to her mum.

She has been my inspiration. She’s my rock. She’s the one who introduced me to modelling and i owe her everything for this.

Fall also thanked FBC TV Project Jejemon Coordinator Andhy Blake for giving her the opportunity to be part of event.

Blake says the future of the fashion industry in Fiji is bright.

High School students Seci Burese and Andre Marseu were given the FBC TV Project Jejemon Fashion Designer of the Year award last night.

Their label – Vou and S&M – featured nine men’s wear and nine fantasy or recyclable wear and was displayed on the runway.

The Year 7 students dedicate their win to their family, friends and established fashion designers who have been their inspiration.

The duo also took out the Best Fantasy/ Recycle Award.

Meanwhile, Designer Aisea Konrote took out three awards last night.

These were the Rubenesque Award, the award for the three piece collection and the Resort Wear Award.

Ethnic Wear award went to AZA.

Ana Rabuka took the Evening Gown Award.
