A man in his fifties who allegedly murdered his son-in-law on Christmas afternoon has been remanded in custody.

Shalendra Bhan Singh has been charged with one count of murder.

It is alleged that the 25-year-old deceased was allegedly assaulted by Singh at Delai Tomuka, Lautoka on Monday.

The matter was referred to Police by Lautoka Hospital personnel after the victim was taken to the hospital around 4pm.

It’s alleged the two had been drinking when they started arguing.

Singh allegedly assaulted the man which led to his death.

The matter has been transferred to the Lautoka High court and will be called on the 12th of next month.
