A 35-year-old man has been sentenced to 7-years imprisonment for trying to murder his wife.

The Court heard that Nitin Ajesh Prasad was living separately from his wife and two sons after a family feud.

The victim who lived with her father evaded Prasad and stopped him from accessing the kids.

Prasad suspected the wife of having an affair and came to know that she had lodged a police complaint that he was harassing her.

On the day of the incident, the victim did not answer any of Prasad’s calls.

He then became angry, visited her and struck her thrice with a cane knife which resulted in severe injuries.

The accused must serve 7 years imprisonment before being eligible for parole.
