Lotus Foreign Exchange robbery suspect denied bail

A man appeared in court today for his alleged involvement in the robbery at the Lotus Foreign Exchange in Suva.

Sunia Drolagio is charged with aggravated robbery and has been remanded in custody.

Drolagio and accomplices allegedly stole a safe with $60,000 cash inside.
He was allegedly found with foreign currency in his possession and the safe was later recovered from a hill in Wailoku outside Suva.

Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvuli denied bail for the accused saying it’s not in the public interest.

Drolagio is remanded in custody until the 9th of January with the case likely to be referred to the High Court.

The robbery happened two weeks ago.
