“The process is that the objections raised go to the Suva City Council and they have an internal process which they follow, one they completed it they will send it to us. As far as we are concerned we are waiting for that bit of information to receive, once we receive it than it goes to DTCP.”

The Local Government Ministry had earlier said that the proposed re-zoning at the Botanical Garden in Suva will not affect the surrounding areas including the gardens and the car park.

Lands Minister Ashneel Sudhakar had also clarified that the idle land at Lot 2 Botanical Garden in Suva is currently under the control of the state.

The piece of land is valued at $1.2m and in exchange Fijian Government has been given a land in New Delhi which is now valued at one hundred and seventeen million dollars.
