The Ministry of Local Government is working on developing Korovou and Keiyasi as a satellite town.

Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar says the Ministry is currently in its planning stage on the development of the two areas.

“There are two other areas that will be developed into a satellite town one is Keiyasi and the other one is Korovou. We have already completed the EIA for Keiyasi area whereas for Korovou we have just acquired the land that we wanted”.

The project is in line with the National Development Plan in building vibrant cities and towns and a stronger rural economy.

Meanwhile, satellite town development is underway in Seaqaqa and Nabouwalu with work expected to complete by mid next year.
