Fire fighters around the world are dedicating their lives to help communities in every possible way.

Today marks International Firefighters Day and the National Fire Authority is acknowledging all its firefighters in Fiji for their contribution to their crucial role as emergency responders.

Acting Chief Executive, Mileta Seniroqa says they have 501 firefighters across the country who are always ready to serve all Fijians.

Seniroqa says they’re also celebrating the life of every person in the emergency service career who has given their time to keep communities and families safe.

The NFA says fire safety is everyone’s responsibility.

The Authority is urging Fijians to help recognize the efforts made by firefighters – who sacrifice their life and time to save lives and properties.
