The ongoing dispute between the senior members of the Social Democratic Liberal Party is set to doom the party and will not achieve what they want to do in the General Elections.

SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka has challenged members, saying they should forget about leading Fijians, if the rift continues.

Speaking to FBC News, Rabuka says they will have to unite if they are to stand a chance putting up a good fight in the upcoming elections.

While some senior members are questioning Rabuka’s leadership, Rabuka says he will not dictate to anyone to support him as there is freedom of expression within the party.

“I have never led an organisation that’s totally supportive of my leadership but if I dictated that everybody supports me then we are under dictatorship, we are a very democratic party.”

Recent media reports have highlighted the split within SODELPA, however, Rabuka feels that the difference of opinion by members makes them stronger.
