Home owners whose houses are insured under the Housing Authority’s Group Housing Insurance are eligible to claim for the damage sustained after the recent flooding.

Authority spokesperson Dwaine Qalovaki says the flood insurance cover provides financial assistance in excess of $1, 250.

“In this particular incident what we have done is that we have the Group Housing Insurance Policy that will cover home owners who were adversely affected in the recent flooding in the northern and western divisions. We have mobilised all our staff to the affected areas to ensure that they come forward and claim for damages to their properties. This will help restore their lives in one way.”

Qalovaki says they are also offering assistance to customers who are now under the insurance policy.

“Depending on the eligibility of our customers, we also look at quick repair loans to help them repair their houses. We also have our personal loan facility which will help them meet short tern difficulties which is for fees for their children and books.”

Housing Authority teams are now in the North and Western divisions, assessing those who may be eligible.
