The Suva High Court has dismissed the appeal filed by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption in relation to Dr Mahendra Reddy case.
FICAC had appealed the matter after Dr Reddy was acquitted of one count of bribery and one count of undue influence in December last year.
FICAC had alleged that Dr Reddy conferred or offered to confer a benefit namely a steady water source for the Ra High School in order to influence the vote of Waisea Lebobo
It was also alleged that Dr Reddy interfered with Lebobos political right.
High Court Judge Justice Vincent Perera dismissed the application saying that evidence adduced by the prosecution is insufficient.
The Magistrate Court’s judgement is affirmed.
