The Health Ministry is working on improving the capabilities of the Nausori Hospital.

Given the numerous concerns raised on the hospital not meeting the growing population of the Nausori area, the Ministry is looking at avenues to solve the issue.

Health Minister, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says plans are already in place to increase the capacity of the Nausori Hospital and at the same time upgrade the services provided.

“There is an accommodation block for Doctors which is actually vacant at the moment so that’s actually being transformed with the budget that we have for this financial year and we are using that to transform that quarters to be able to use it for maternal and child health.”

Dr Waqainabete says they understand that sometimes the hospital is crowded with people and they will be implementing changes soon.
