Head teachers and principals will be required to teach when the new school year open in 2020.

Ministry of Education permanent secretary Alison Burchell has sent out a circular instructing heads of schools to teach classes.

Burchell states that their role descriptions have also been revised, approved and endorsed by the Minister.

The permanent secretary has reminded all school heads to lead by example, providing educational leadership in their respective schools.

Education Minister Rosy Akbar this morning confirmed to FBC News that the circular was sent out to all teachers on the 11th of this month.
