The price of Kerosene will increase by 19 cents to cost $1.49 a litre.

The 4.5 kg cylinder of Liquid Petroleum Gas will increase by $1.85, selling at $14.43 while the 12 kg cylinder will cost $38.48, an increase of $4.93.

Auto gas increases by 24cents to cost $1.82 and bulk increases by 34 cents retailing at $2.72 per kg.

Minister for Industry and Trade Faiyaz Koya says the increases are based by an unfavorable movement in the international prices for all petroleum products experienced in the last quarter.

“Fiji is directly impacted by the world market prices for both refined oils and LPG. As such, any changes to the world market prices will be reflected in fuel and LPG prices in Fiji. The Fijian competition and consumer commission will conduct the next fuel and LPG prices review on 15th April 2018. So advice to all consumers is once again use it in a sustainable fashion and make sure you use less fuel by trying to catch a bus, take a walk or ride a cycle.”

Koya also says the increase in crude oil prices were also supported by rising global demand as China and India continue to see positive rates.
