The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service is committed to increasing their engagement with tax payers to ensure there’s voluntary compliance.
This was highlighted by FRCA Chief Executive, Visvanath Das at a Chief Executive Officers forum yesterday.
Das says they’re working with taxpayers to increase revenue and help the Fijian economy grow.
With FRCA working tirelessly to simplify the tax system, he says they will provide clarity and increase engagement.
Das confirms that through their Compliance Improvement Strategy – there is only 47 percent compliance out of the 51,000 active business taxpayers in the country.
He adds that improvements can be done if greater responsibility is taken for voluntary compliance.
