The Fiji Roads Authority is spending more than 50 million on maintenance a year says chief executive John Hutchinson.

Hutchinson says this a significant component of the budget allocated for the year.

“We currently speeding about 80million a year on maintenance that’s on both sealed and unsealed roads, outer islands, drainage, traditional community roads corridor maintenance and also relates to vegetation management, foot path, bus shelters, traffic signs, rails and barriers, black spot reduction, all that programme is ongoing and that is a very significant component of our budget and I think that is one of the most visible component of our budget.”
