As a result the victim got injured and was taken to the hospital by her sister.

While sentencing him , High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar said the accused entered an early guilty plea and had saved courts time.

Judge Goundar also said that this was a case of family violence and had breached his daughter’s trust.

A permanent domestic violence restraining order has been issued for the safety and well-being of the victim.

The accused has been sentenced to six months imprisonment but he has already served two months in remand, therefore he will serve four months in prison now.
