The Pacific Islands Forum Officials Committee meeting in Suva this morning has heard that the Ministerial Contact Group visit to Fiji in May this year was a success.

Opening the pre-forum session Secretariat Secretary General Tuloma Neori Slade says the meeting was a positive development in the Forum’s re-engagement with Fiji.

Slade says the focus of the sessions will be on institutional aspects, high level political policy issues and the preparations for the Forum Leaders’ meeting.

Meanwhile the MCG’s chair report on their visit to Fiji has been given to the Forum Leaders for their consideration at a meeting in Rarotonga, Cook Islands later this month.
