The Fiji National University open day, which ends today, is being used to attract more students to a higher level of education.

With the open day theme-“Investing in your future at FNU”- hundreds of secondary school students have flocked the FNU campuses in Suva and Nausori to consider career opportunities.

Minister for Agriculture, Inia Seruiratu, says the government supports a holistic approach to education and help to create a knowledge-based society.

“The Bainimarama government has full confidence in the work carried out by FNU and this is evident in the 2017 budget which has several important projects for FNU embedded it. Government is sponsoring fifty scholarships each year to support a twenty four certificate III in commercial agriculture program at FNU that trains students in various agricultural disciplines to stimulate commercial agriculture in the country.”

FNU Chancellor, Ikbal Jannif, says the open day will give students ideas on how to pursue their education after secondary school.
