February 25, 2016 6:14 pm

The Fiji National Provident Fund has clarified that assistance is available for members who have been affected by Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston.

The FNPF has three forms of assistance. The first involves one thousand dollars given under humanitarian grounds to those who reside in the worst affected areas.

The second is for quick repairs to properties of members up to five thousand dollars, and the third allows members to access their funds for more than five-thousand dollars depending upon eligibility.

FNPF Acting chief executive, Jaoji Koroi, says their teams will be in the field to assess the needs of members.

“What we are planning is to take our services right to those areas that have been affected. Today we have deployed six teams progressive deployments will come in next week and we will try and, over the next four to six weeks, to get as much work done as possible.”

FNPF has also waivered the processing fees and simplified the processes to enable their members to access this service immediately.
