Police are investigating the discovery of a foetus along the Nasese foreshore this afternoon.

Fisherman Kishore Kumar got the shock of his life today, finding a new born in the mangroves.

Kumar and a friend were checking his crab nets along the seawall when they stumbled upon the foetus.

The baby was found at about 2.30 this afternoon and the fishermen immediately informed police who arrived at the scene and removed it.

Investigations are continuing.
