Three shops in Tavua town have completely burnt down in an early morning fire today.

The Fire started around 1.30am.

Goundars Hardware, Urman Building and Harerama shops could not be saved from the fierce blaze.

FBC News understands two families were also occupying the top flats of Urman building and reportedly no one was hurt.

Fire fighters were unable to contain the blaze.

A number of nearby shops in Tavua remain closed with smoke still coming out of the burnt down buildings.
