FIRCA to extend time frame for COE

April 21, 2012 8:00 pm

Fiji Customs Authority has extended the time frame for issuing the Certificate of Exemption for local companies.

The move’s aimed at assisting taxpayers and the business community.

Gold card taxpayers will be issued with certificates for up to 15 months exemption, while other taxpayers will be granted exemption for between 6 and12 months
This basically means that big business can delay paying their taxes which are available in the meantime for cash flow.

“Tikolevu says the new move is also to minimise the cost and time spent by taxpayers visiting the FRCA office to get a certificate of exemption”.
