Final rotation of Fijian troops overseas underway

The RFMF has successfully completed it’s final rotation of troops to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for this year.

LandForce Commander Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho says they have a new team on the ground now under the command of the Senior National Officer in Lebanon.

The new Commanding Officer is Major Praneel Singh.

This afternoon, Qiliho confirmed to FBC News the rotation of approximately 200 soldiers to Iraq starts today and will go on for three weeks.

“Otherwise, we’re already looking now into replacements for the Sinai, those we’re identifying replacements for training and deployment in March next year which starts in March next year. "

Qiliho adds this year’s final deployments will be finalized once the rotation to Iraq is completed.
