The Amnesty for ineligible recipients of the Homes CARE initiative to return their M-PAISA cards will end on Friday.
Permanent Secretary for Social Welfare – Dr. Josefa Koroivueta is urging those who received the assistance to return their M-PAISA cards within the next 72 hours.
“The advice from the Ministry of Economy, we have established offices which are designated in all our districts right around the West and also in the North for which members of the Public can return their M-PAISA cards and have it receipted there and then.”
The PS says there are hefty penalties in place to deter any fraudulent activities.

Under the False Information Act 2016, the penalties to be meted out include a $20 000 fine and 10 years imprisonment or both if found guilty of misuse under the Homes CARE program.
