Fijians must ensure that all forms of child labour is eradicated from the society completely.

This was highlighted by the Employment Ministry’s Director Labour Standard Service, Atish Kumar.

Kumar says to obtain a child labour free Fiji the ministry is ensuring that all children are sent to school.

“Government has put in policies and plan to ensure that we send all children to school and we have also noted that this has been given the highest protection under the 2013 constitution.”

Kumar says the Ministry is working together with Education Ministry, Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Ministry and other stakeholders to create awareness with an aim to get rid of child labour.
