Fijian teachers offered future prospects in schools in China

July 19, 2015 11:14 pm

There is a possibility that Fijian teachers will soon teach English in Guangdong – one of China’s fastest growing provinces.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama offered the chances of placing Fijian teachers in China while meeting with Guangdong Province Party secretary, Hu Chunhua on Saturday.

Bainimarama says Fijian teachers can make an immense contribution to China’s effort to improve the English language skills of its people.

He says this is especially in the area of international trade which is a priority for Guangdong.

The provincial capital, Guangzhou City, is the third largest city in China and the transportation and communications hub of Southern China, internationally regarded as a centre of foreign trade.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister sought assistance to improve and expand the sporting facilities in Suva.

In his response Hu says that as a sister city to Suva, Guangdong will provide the necessary assistance to strengthen ties.
