June 10, 2018 5:25 pm

Fiji’s National Employment Policy and Decent Work Country Programme are now in the final stages of drafting.

Minister for Employment, Jone Usamate says the two policies are aimed at promoting decent work, social protection and workers’ fundamental rights that go hand in hand with job creation.

Usamate says these policies are needed not only to advance Fiji into the future of work but also sustain the country in the process.

He adds the ILO data reveals that a disparity still significantly exists for women in the workplace.

Usamate says new innovative approaches are needed.
