The Fiji Red Cross Society says they will try to obtain a portable desalination plants which they plan to set up in the outer islands in Fiji.

Society Director General Filipe Nainoca says they have been working with New Zealand Red Cross to procure these small units.

“One unit will be able to be flown the second will have to travel by boat. These are different ways we are looking at to be able to expand what we in Red Cross are able to do to help those who are venerable in times of disaster.”
