November 19, 2015 6:21 pm

The Fiji Police Force needs more capacity building and empowerment programs to ensure that misconduct and brutality are weeded out of the system.

Acting Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says this is the platform of a new level of service delivery to the people of Fiji.

Making his first official visit to the western division, Brigadier General Qiliho made no qualms on the path the Force needs to take to rejuvenate service delivery.

“If you look after our front line police men and women in terms of their welfare, they are accommodated well and they have the necessary equipment to conduct their duties, all these things will fall into place. It will rub off into their conduct. Definitely we don’t condone misconduct.”

He says help has also been sought to curb the growing instances of Police brutality in the past.

Brigadier General Qiliho met with leaders in the business community in Lautoka last night to discuss ways to improve service delivery in the Sugar City.
