Fiji in talks with Asian Countries for sugar export

The Fiji Sugar Corporation is in talks with Asian countries like China, Korea and others for this year’s sugar exports.

FSC’s chief operating officer Navin Chandra says discussions regarding the export quantity continues.

Chandra says the confirmation will come after the crushing season starts.

“The markets are similar to what we have had in the past but there are other areas that we are looking at in terms of Korea, China, the Asian markets where we potentially could get better pricing as well.”

Chandra says FSC’s management and marketing team are working hard to ensure these markets are fully secured for this season and the coming season.

Crushing at the Labasa Mill will start on the 19th of this month, 3rd July for Lautoka Mill and Rarawai Mill will begin on the 17th of next month.
