The Fijian Government is committed to strengthening the protection of human rights and the environment.
United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment, David Boyd says a new National Environment hotline will soon be launched.
He says this is to enable the public to report on illegal activities that harm the environment such as garbage dumping.
_“Fiji is doing really good initiatives to deal with the problems. There is a really interesting made in Fiji the innovation called “The Rocket Stove” which reduces air pollution , black carbon and it actually cooks faster than an open flame and that is really great.”_
He adds that Fiji is also now innovating products to reduce its carbon footprints.
