The national sevens side remains on track to win its first Hong Kong 7s title in three years after beating Argentina 26-7 in the quarterfinal.

Fiji was made to work hard with Argentina leading 7-5 at one stage of the first half.

Nikola Matawalu opened the score sheet to give Fiji a 5-0 lead early in the match however Argentina replied in fashion through skipper Nicholas Bruzzone.

Joeli Lutumailagi scored the side’s second try to help regain the lead 12-5 at halftime.

After the restart Waisea Nayacalevu and Metuisela Talebula scored a try each to give Fiji a place in the semi finals.

Fiji will face England in the semis at 7.49pm.
